Kiawah Island Home Featured in Charleston Style & Design
March 10, 2026
We’re honored to announce that one of our recent projects has been featured in the winter issue of Charleston Style & Design! We are so in love with this transitional Kiawah home and excited to share it with you.
This home was designed for a Chicago-based couple searching for a warm oasis in the Lowcountry. They found exactly what they were looking for on Kiawah Island. While the couple tends to lean into a more traditional aesthetic, they came to us looking to bridge that classic style with something a little lighter and more relaxed. They wanted to embrace the natural beauty of the Lowcountry without losing that sense of sophistication they love. ‘
From the moment you enter the home, it sets that tone. White oak, geometric pieces, and clean lines bring a contemporary touch to the coffered ceilings, sweeping archways, and gold accents.
“We wanted that first moment to feel both welcoming and sophisticated.” – Margaret
A primary goal of this project was to create some open plan living areas to encourage gathering with family and guests, while also providing zones for retreat. These zones are evident in the kitchen and living spaces. In the kitchen, dual islands at varying heights separate food prep from seating, while a pass-through window opens directly to the screened porch.
Even the outdoor living spaces are intentionally divided. A lounge area anchored by an outdoor sectional and fireplace feels like a separate yet connected space to the outdoor kitchen and dining area. The indoor connection to the outdoors was so important for this couple to enjoy the warmth and beauty of the Lowcountry. Throughout the home, floor-to-ceiling windows provide sweeping views, while a cozy palette of warm neutrals, gray-taupes, and blues keep the home grounded in Kiawah Island’s natural beauty.
